When most people think of travel to the Hawaiian Islands, they envision luxury hotels or resorts. But with the Short Term Rental industry becoming ever more popular, are there opportunities for families to stay in homes if they wish? Surprisingly, there were not as many as I would have expected. It appears Hawaii highly regulates the Short Term Rental Industry, so that may explain the low number of options. For our first wave of homes, we focused on the Island of Oahu. We found three there were highly rated. We will highlight them below!
Hale Kea
This 3BR/3BA home will sleep up to five guests. The home is a Hawaiian-style build and has been recently renovated. The design is very open concept with lots of light and gathering space. There is an outdoor covered lanai that can be accessed from the kitchen and living room. The pool is heated to 85 degrees year round! The best part? This home is located just steps from the famous Kailua Beach!!
Hawaiian Dreams
Located just 27 steps from a relatively hidden beach, Hawaiian Dreams will have you living like a local. This part of the island is off the beaten path and away from tourist filled beaches. There is a grocery store across the street and island bus stops just outside your door. The home is pretty “no frills” but if you are looking to enjoy a quiet and peaceful island paradise vacation that is away from the hustle and bustle, then this may be a truly ideal location!! The home has 4BR and 2BA and will sleep up to ten!
The Beach Villas
This rental condo is part of the Ko Olina Resort, but is NOT as crowded as many of the other resorts are on the island. Because this is a resort, you and your family have access to many resort amenities such as two pool, three hot tubs, a golf course, Hawaiian Luau shows, on-premise restaurants, and more! Located on west shore of Oahu, the resort has access to four turquoise blue lagoons that are perfect for swimming and playing! The villa itself is beautifully designed and built was high end finishings and appliances. We love how the patio opens wide to the spacious patio!
