Charleston, SC has been a favorite vacation location for my wife and I for nearly two decades. There are many reasons we have continued to visit. Charleston is arguably one of the most historic cities in the US. The city is filled with historic homes, many of which are over 200 years old. The food in Charleston is amazing! Both the natural and architectural beauty of the city is amazing! Lastly, there is so much to do!
In this article, we will focus on highlighting some of the BEST vacation rentals around this amazing city. All recommendations will have at least a four star out of five guest rating. We will include a mix of condos, homes, kitchen houses, and carriage houses. It was common during the 17th and 18th century Charleston to have a kitchen house. This home is where all of the cooking was done. In the event of a kitchen fire, it was less likely for the main, larger home to also catch fire!

Charlestonian

We may have found our favorite Charleston vacation rental so far! The owner spent five years working on restoring the home. He did his best to locate or repurpose items or materials from as close to the year the home was built in 1851, except for the pine. He estimates most, if not all of the pine, is from around 1600! The home has two bedrooms and one bath. It will sleep up to 4 guests. The vacation rental is just three blocks from the famous King Street, where you will find many dining and shopping establishments. The home also features multiple porches and patios.
